BAKING: Easter Medley Tray-Bake

A baking blog post – by me? Is this actually happen? It appears so. Last week I did some baking despite the fact I’m appalling at it well it didn’t involve an oven so. Seen as Easter is now over and the large majority of us will have loads of chocolate cluttering up our fridges I thought I’d share with you a little idea in order to throw it all into a creation and eat it all as quickly as possible I mean it’s summer soon who needs the temptation of a Malteser Easter egg?

So to begin with the standard items you’ll need 100g of margarine, 3 tblspoon of golden syrup and 300g of chocolate – if you want to get rid of some Easter eggs to do this bit then that would work too! You’ll also need 200g of digestive biscuits no need to splash out on the McVities! Now this is where your choice comes in – I used 200g of Mini Eggs and about 100g of maltesers but if you are creatively inclined and want to experiment – go for it!

  • Step One: Melt the margarine and the golden syrup in a pan on the hob until it’s all nice and mixed.

I used all the golden syrup but I think I’d actually recommend not using as much as it seemed a bit ‘soggy’

  • Step Two: Put the digestives, maltesers and 100g of mini eggs into a sealed bag and bash away until it’s all crushed
  • Step three: Begin to melt the chocolate either on the hob or in the microwave – I found doing it in sections was better rather than throwing it all in!
  • Step four: Whilst keeping a close eye on the chocolate, move back over to the margarine and syrup and mix in the bashed up mixture until its all mixed in
  • Step Five: You will then need to grease a tray and pour the mixture into the bottom of it and then flatten and smooth it all out nicely
  • Step Six: Once the chocolate is all melted, you then need to pour it over the top of that mixture in the tray again smoothing and flattening it all out!
  • Step Seven: Take the reminder of your mini eggs and again bash them all under before sprinkling them on top of the chocolate
  • Step Eight: Finally put the tray into the fridge and leave to set until its hard – I feel this will vary so just do what you think is right.

DONE! Share them around your family and feel relieved at the fact that you no longer have tempting chocolate lying in your fridge!

How To: Make a Vision Board

I picked this ‘How to’ as I don’t think you need to be artistic to do one – just a little imagination. Ok and these few bits to make it…

  • A piece of card the bigger the better
  • Cuttings from magazines/photos/quotes that inspire you.
  • Something to stick it all to the card…pritt stick will do.

I guess that a vision board is a bit like a goal board as you put on there all the things you want out of life and aim on achieving each and every one. It’s such a lovely idea, anyone at any age can do one and it’s therapeutic at the same time. I am still in the process of making mine so here’s a few different variations that I found.

How to Create Your Own Workout Plan! – By Lydia

In the lead up to summer a lot of us will be wanting to work on our ‘bikini bods’ – but i just feel this post will help a lot of us, including myself, who want to up our fitness level and just become generally fitter and healthier. Going to the gym/exercising isn’t just something that people do in order to lose weight, it’s also a great thing to have in everyone’s lives as exercise generally leads to happier feelings and in my opinion, just a general sense that you’ve done something that day! So this might be a slightly longer post but i hope it it will be beneficial to us all, before i start just a slight disclaimer: i’m quite clearly not a qualified PT or anything of the sort, i’m just a girl whose been to a few gyms in her time and thought i’d be a fun thing to write about…
